The Parish Church, also known as the Santa Maria Maior, is 12th century Romanesque with a fine portal and bell tower. Renovations in the 16th century in Renaissance style completely modified the rest of the church. There is a statue of Christ at the top of the tower and, high up on the façade, another of Santa Maria Maior. Just under the cornice, is carved the inscription, ‘A Las Malas Lengoas Estas Figas’, which translates as ‘to gossipers I give you the finger’, somewhat surprising for a parish church. Undecorated stone walls give an air of austerity to the interior.
