Behind the Jardim Antero de Quental is the 16th century Igreja do Colégio de Todos-os-Santos. It used to be part of the old Jesuit College. Rebuilt in the 17th century, its frontispiece was never finished due to the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1759 on the orders of the Marques de Pombal. Its size and majesty confers it a palatial aspect, along with its heavy decorated high altar, its triumphal arches and its lateral retables that express the artistic decorative freedom of the baroque period. It houses a majestic pulpit and side altars, sumptuous examples of Baroque artistic expression in a profusion of fauna and flora motifs.
