The Igreja do Cavalho has been wholly restored, but fortunately the restoration was sympathetically done and there are parts still remaining from the 17th century. Amongst these treasures are the carved wooden side altars, complete with gilded ornamentation, the "dressing room" where the priests’ vestments are kept and a beautiful ornate crucifix. The church also serves as a temporary home to the decorative altar piece from the Ermida de St Pedro (Hermitage of St Peter).
