Igreja de São Miguel Arcanjo was built in the middle of the 16th century and has been remodelled several times during its existence, with the most extensive being in 1826. The original church was demolished by several and successive earthquakes. A baroque building, its altars are covered in gilt wood carving and glazed azuelo tiles depicting religious scenes. There are some wonderful paintings and statuary. In the main chapel is a plaque dated 1904 describing the history of the church.
