The Igreja de Santo André, once known as the convent of Santo André, is a fine example of religious architecture dating from 1567. The façade has baroque and neo-classic decorative elements. The original building on the site was destroyed in 1522 by the earthquake and rebuilt afterwards. Further renovations took place in the 17th century. The church has two naves and a carved wood high altar. The panelled ceilings are particularly fine, as are the walls decorated with glazed azuelo tiles.
