The Igreja das Domínicas (church of the Dominican Brothers) is a Gothic structure dating from the 13th century. It was founded in 1267 by D. Alfonso III, on the site of a small hermitage dedicated to Our Lady of the Martyrs and the building once served as a hospice. The interior is sober, with three vaults supported by pillars of eight columns. It was modified in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries and finally in the 18th century in a Baroque style. The chancel has impressive stellar vaulting.
