The Igreja da Misericórdia is in Largo Fialho de Almeida, previously known as Largo da Misericórdia. This is a small, but very pretty church. It is used extensively for exhibitions because of its central location and interior beauty. It is also the focal point of many of the town’s religious festivals and the festivities to honour St Cucufate, the patron saint of the town. It is open to visitors, but guided tours are not available at this stage.
