The Church of the Mercy is situated in the historical centre of Terena. Although the exact date of construction is not known, the vault of the main chapel shows that it must have occurred during the second half of the 16th century, during the reign of D.João III. This chapel is decorated with wall paintings of 18th century origin and has a marble pulpit. The retable is carved and gilded and decorated with the symbols of the Passion of Christ. The façade is very simple with an interesting clock tower.
