The Hermitage of Santo António is situated in the Barrio do Rossio (historic centre) of the village of Terena. Built in the Alentejo rural style, it has a simple façade. Its construction in 1657 was due to the initiative of João Nunes Ribeiro, a Knight of the Order of Christ. The nave is round in form with a pulpit of marble and forged iron. The carved and gilded altar is from the 17th century, and bears the images of the Saints António, Bento and Vicente. Presently it serves of funerary chapel for the village of Terena.
