Sheltered from the winds by the cliffs and surrounded by the beautiful hillside scenery of the Serra da Arrábida, the sandy Galapos beach, southwest of Setubal, is one of the prettiest in the region. It is a beach of two parts and at times seems almost private. Dolphins are often seen here. The average summer seawater temperature is 17 ºC and its calm waters make it particularly suited for diving. This is a supervised beach in season; there are parking, restaurant and bar facilities.
