The Fluviarium in Mora, which offers visitors a unique insight into the rivers and lakes of Portugal, is only the third of its kind in the world. The centre gives first-hand experience of many of the water-based inhabitants, from the better known species to rare specimens – even some that would otherwise go unnoticed. Presented in large tanks in the Fluviarium, the hidden world of the rivers and lakes makes for a fascinating experience. Parking is provided and refreshment facilities are on site.
