The Foz do Lizandro Beach, south of Ericeira at the mouth of the river Lizandro, has near ideal waves and attracts many surfers and body boarders. The small lagoons created by the river are ideal for children and boat excursions are available from the beach which has EEC blue flag status. Football is also played here and lifeguards are on duty in season, where the average summer seawater temperature is 17-18 ºC. Umbrellas can be hired, there are bars and restaurants, facilities for the disabled, and parking is available. It is also a lively place at nights.
