Fonte da Vila, one of the landmarks of Castelo de Vide, is a large ornamental square-shaped fountain. It was built in the 15th century and looks like a small temple. The edifice is covered by a porch supported by marble columns. This in turn is topped by a pyramid-shaped wooden roof covering. Multiple fountain heads spray into the main font. On each of the four sides of this fabulous structure it is possible to see the coat of arms of Portugal and of the municipality.
