Figueira da Foz has many attractions and, apart from those separately listed, the following are worthy of consideration. The Maiorca Palace in the Largo do Paço (Tel +351 233 939 481), the Abadia Park covering about 4 hectares (10 acres) in the centre of the city and the Palheiros fort remains. In Buarcos there are two pillories, the Redondos Tower and the 17th century Nossa Senhora da Encarnação Chapel. About 24 km northeast of town is the 70 hectares (173 acres) lake of Lagoa da Vela in Bom Sucesso and for picnic parks try the Boa Viagem Mountain Range.
