A visit to the recently constructed Teatro Municipal de Faro is highly recommended. This progressive and modern theatre has a varied programme of events and concerts. The London Symphony Orchestra is a regular visitor, as well as soloists ranging in taste from jazz to classical. The theatre also hosts dance groups, plays and exciting individual theatrical performances. It is situated on the EN 125 at the entrance to Faro, in a zone that is undergoing renewal and upgrading. Close by is the interesting Horta do Ourives dating from the 17th century.
