Palm trees, a beautiful park and historic buildings are the backdrop to Faro’s marina on the town side. The Ria Formosa lagoon, stretching over a vast area to the Atlantic Ocean, provides the view on the other side. Packed with luxury boats of all sizes, the waterfront is the place to see how the wealthy live and play. Hundreds of smaller boats are moored in the Ria Formosa channel. There are restaurants, shops, cafes and plenty of shaded benches to while away an hour or two watching the world sail by.
