Fajãzinha is an attractive coastal village that existed for centuries as an agricultural centre until tourism arrived in the Azores. It is a very pretty place to visit with its picturesque ruins of water mills and the charming Our Lady of Medicine Church. Not far from Fajãzinha, further along the west coast, one finds the viewpoint Craveiro Lopez. From here visitors are afforded spectacular views of the island’s highest waterfall at Ribeira Grande, diving from about 300 m into the sea.
