Built in the 16th century on the site of a medieval chapel, the church was rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries under Italian architect Francisco Xavier Fabri. It has a neo-classical facade and has an interesting bell-tower. The church is home to statues from the 17th and 18th centuries, including a São Vicente and a São Diogo. The exquisite pulpit is made of local marble and the baptistery is decorated in the style used in the Estoi palace. The church treasures include a monstrance in silver gilt and a 17th century embroidered cape.
