Located about 12 km north of Póvoa de Varzim, along a 3 km stretch of beach, Estela Golf Course is considered one of the best in Portugal. It hosted the Portuguese Open in 1991 and has staged European PGA tour events. Completed in 1988 and designed by Duarte Sotto Mayor, this is an 18 hole par 72 typical links course, measuring 6,129 metres with beautiful Atlantic ocean views. Facilities include a driving range, putting green and pro shop. Clubs, buggies and hand trolleys can be hired. The clubhouse has a restaurant and bar and there is a sauna and private beach.
