Escaleiras is a rocky beach surrounded by steep cliffs. It is a very calm bathing spot with small natural pools that opens to the Atlantic sea with changing rooms and other facilities. This beach is protected on one side by an extensive promontory and on the other by cliffs. The beach is located in the north of the island and, due to the abundance of rain in winter, it is surrounded by luxuriant vegetation, making it a most attractive venue.
