The Episcopal Seminary is a vast building parallel to the city walls. It was built during the 18th and 19th centuries and is connected to the Bishop’s Palace by an ornate arch. The windows, with their decorative stonework, date from the first phase of construction. The remainder is later, from the 19th century period, and is typically the work of the Italian architect Francisco Xavier Fabri, who designed a number of buildings in Faro. There is an inner patio with a window in the 16th century Manueline style.
