Located in an attractive valley approximately 13 km northeast of Mirandela is the typical Trás-os-Montes village of Romeu in an olive oil producing area. The Museu das Curiosidades houses the collection of the Méneres family from the beginning of the 20th century onwards. As can be imagined from the name it is of a varied nature, including Model-T Fords (from 1909), bicycles, juke-boxes, sewing machines, musical boxes, cameras and other early photographic equipment. The visit is made doubly worthwhile because next door is the famous Maria Rita restaurant.
