The Cromeleque do Xerez is an impressive collection of menhirs arranged in a circular pattern with a main phallic stone in the centre. Found on the narrow road leading south from Monsaraz to Mourão, the Cromeleque do Xerez is an outstanding reminder of civilisations from thousands of years in the past. The site is signposted from the road. Although the collection of menhirs here isnot quite as impressive as that at Almendres, this is nevertheless a tourist attraction which should not be missed.
