The Costa Vicentina Nature Reserve, which covers 150 km between Sagres and Sines, protects various unique species of animal and plant life, and is visited by zoologists and botanists from all over the world. Many bird species can be seen, such as rare fishing eagles. This is the only place in the world where the white stork nests in the seashore rocks. The fauna is also rich in foxes, wild boar, badgers, wildcats and hares. Plant life includes unique indigenous species such as Biscutella vicentina or Plantago Almogravensis. This is a paradise for bird watchers, nature lovers, artists and photographers.
