The Convent of St Joćo de Deus was completely renovated to house the Municipal Library, the Historical Archives and the Municipal Gallery. To the right of the convent is the Crypt of St. Joćo de Deus and the Parish Curch (Igreja Matriz). In the crypt there is a dedication of Montemor to the saint, who was born here. In the church visitors will find the extraordinary beautiful original fresco which covers the vault of the nave.
