Congro Lake is an expanse of dark green water surrounded by a dense grove of trees. When in the Ribiera Grande region, if time is no issue, it is worthwhile to drive out to the Lagoa do Congro (Congro Lake) which can be reached on an earth track. The lake is hidden inside a caldera, surrounded by dense cedars, and will only appear in front of you when you actually get there. To get a better view of the beauty of the whole site, it is recommended to climb a nearby hill.
