Built in the 17th century, the Igreja São Paulo was part of a former monastery. The church has a fine collection of paintings and statues from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, most notable among which is a statue of the Virgin, of Flemish origin, in the transept. The paving of the transept (of 17th century Spanish origin) is unique in Portugal. In the sacristy there are two 16th century panels showing the adoration of the Infant Jesus, and statues from the 17th and 18th centuries.
