The Casa Etnográfica museum in Santo António Além Capelas has a fascinating collection of local ethnographic art, mainly those made with the basalt stone of the region. This museum gives a good insight into the former life through the centuries of the Azorians. The museum has many interesting exhibits, but the highlight among remarkable daily life objects, furniture and a variety of tools is the replica of a traditional São Miguel kitchen with all the typical primitive kitchen utensils.
