Located approximately 30 km southwest of Chaves, at a height of 500 metres in the Baroso hills, is the renovated Carvalhelhos Spa. Known since Roman times, the spa is ideal for relaxation and its waters are recommended for the treatment of skin diseases and circulatory and digestive system disorders, specialist assistance is available. The water is bicarbonated, sodic and fluorinated with a 7.9 pH level and a temperature of 22°C. The company has a modern mineral water bottling plant nearby. Leisure facilities include a training circuit, fishing and hunting. Accommodation is available.
