The Carmo Convent Church is all that remains of the former convent of barefoot Carmelites, which was founded in 1613 and whose emblem can be seen over the portal. The niche in the fairly plain façade has a 17th century statue of the Virgin Mary and the infant Jesus. Inside, the architecture is also simple and you can admire the two carved altars from the 17th and 18th centuries, various sculptures, screens portraying scenes from the Passion, and the carved and gilded woodwork.
