The Capelo Natural Park is one of the beauty spots of Faial. This very enjoyable place, full of different trees and bushes, is ideal for picnics and barbecues. There is always the possibility for watching deer, or simply for wandering through the many trails, hearing nothing but the singing of the birds, the crushing of the leaves under your feet, and the sounds of nature all around. If you’re lucky you might even see a traditional wedding taking place, or an equestrian demonstration, as the nature park is much used by the locals.
