The Barragem de Campilhas on the Campilhas River is found in one of the most beautiful settings in the Alentejo. Close enough to Sanitago do Cacem to make a day trip a pleasant part of your holiday plans, the dam is a restful stretch of calm water perfect for a variety of water-based activities. The dam provides excellent conditions for canoeing, windsurfing and angling, but motorboat sports, such as water skiing are not allowed. This all adds to the peace and tranquillity of what is a recognised beauty spot. For those who enjoy walking, the area around the dam provides a great trail.
