Caminha beach, also known as Camarido beach, is situated at the mouth of the River Minho, 5 kms southwest of Caminha at the most north-westerly point of Portugal. It is an area of great beauty and surrounded by the pines of the Mata Nacional do Camarido protected area. With a choice of open sea or calmer river waters and fine or coarse sand, the site is ideal for children’s swimming, sailing or windsurfing. This is a blue flag beach with facilities for the disabled. Other facilities include showers, small craft and umbrella hire.
