Caldelas Spa is located about 18 km north of Braga, in the restful heart of the Minho region and close to the Peneda-Gerês National Park. It is also the area where many battles, related to the birth of the Portuguese nation, took place. Archaeological remains prove the hot springs were in use in Roman times and the spa waters are bicarbonated, calcic and fluorinated with a pH level of 8.3. They are recommended for the treatment of diseases of the digestive, circulatory, respiratory system, nutritional diseases, rheumatic diseases, the nervous system and skin problems. Accommodation is available in season.
