About 13 km northwest of Braga, just before you come to Cervães, a turning to the right will take you to the Santuário de Nossa Senhora do Bom Despacho, to give its Portuguese name. It was founded in 1640 by a hermit, João da Cruz, who raised donations for the sanctuary to fulfil a promise made to the Virgin Mary. The Baroque façade has two bell towers and internally there is an 18th century altar with a 17th century painted panel. There are further painted panels in the side altars dedicated to Saint Joseph and the Presentation of the Virgin Mary.
