The Anta do Barrocal is a cromlech, one of several such monuments in the Alentejo. It has the remains of a polygonal chamber and a covering stone slab still found on site. It is located around 200 metres southwest of the Monte do Barrocal hilltop farm. This monument impressively illustrates the organization and technical capabilities of the Neolithic populations that built it. A large number of artefacts found during the archaeological excavations are kept in the museum of Evora.
