If you fancy a completely different view of Funchal and Madeira, then try the Madeira Balloon, it is located next to the famous permanently anchored Beatles’ boat, adjacent to the Marina. The 22 metre diameter balloon can take up to 32 passengers and goes up to a maximum height of 150 metres. Flights are for approximately 15 minutes and there is wheelchair access. You will get a signed flight diploma and a glass of Madeira wine is offered. No drifting over the Atlantic, the balloon is firmly tethered to the ground!
