Baia beach is adjacent to the centre of Espinho and between two breakwaters. It is the most popular in the area and host to a whole range of recreational events. Favoured by surfers and body boarders, for whom competitions are held, it also has a beach volleyball court. This is an EEC blue flag beach, with lifeguards on duty in season and facilities for the disabled. The average seawater temperature in summer is 16-18 ºC, umbrellas can be hired and parking is available. Given its locality, there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants.
