Azurara beach stretches for several kilometres south from the mouth of the River Ave. It begins at the jetty. The fine white sands are protected by dunes which are crossed by wooden walkways to avoid damage. The strong waves provide good conditions for surfing and are also suitable for body boarding. The beaches have lifeguards on duty in season, parking and facilities for the disabled. The average summer seawater temperature is 16 șC, there are restaurants and bars and umbrellas can be hired.
