The Aqueduto da Prata in Évora is an incredible renaissance construction, well worth its standing as a tourist attraction. It runs for a total length of 18 km. The most imposing and decorative part, with square turrets and cupolas at intervals, lies between Sao Bento and the city. It was designed by the architect Francisco de Arruda in the sixteenth century. Beginning at the foot of the Alto de São Bento, it traverses a large part of the city of Évora and can be seen from some distance.
