The recently opened Aqua Park is located about 16 km northeast of Funchal, close to the airport. This attraction sets out to cater for the entire family and has two swimming pools, one of which is reserved for children. The park can cater for 1,000 people and has five toboggan slides, four other water slides, a highly recommended ‘black hole’ and a river which meanders around the pools. Facilities include changing rooms, lockers and a bar and there is no objection to refreshments being brought on site.
