Situated about 8 km southwest of the town, in delightful scenery, the hilly and narrow Amarante golf course is located within the Quinta da Deveza estate and features three huge water hazards. Designed by Jorge Santana da Silva and opened in 1997, the 18 hole, 5,030 metre par 68 course calls for great accuracy. Facilities include a driving range, putting green, chipping area with bunker and a pro shop. Buggies, hand trolleys and clubs can be hired, there are no caddies. The clubhouse has a bar, restaurant and swimming pool.
