Aljezur is a small coastal village with traditional Algarve whitewashed houses, framed by colourful borders painted around windows and along the edges of walls. The castle ramparts standing at the top of the hill give a vivid reminder of the past. Aljezur is set between the sea and the hills, with the coastline marked by high cliffs and sandy coves and the interior a land of rolling hills.
