For those interested in pot-holing, the Algar do Montoso, situated on the peak of the same name, is one not to be missed, but it does require experience and equipment. The Algar do Montos is a perfect spot for studying rock formations or just to enjoy a simple visit, however it is recommended to do so in the company of a local guide. If pot-holing doesn’t appeal the area is still worth visiting as the surrounding countryside is very attractive.
