Achadinha (from Achada + -inha meaning Little Achada) is a village in the district of Nordeste. It is typical of an agricultural Azorean village and is very pretty. It is easy to reach as the main road links with Ponta Delgada, Ribeira Grande and Nordeste. With mountains to the south, it is a picturesque spot to visit. The Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosario, which originated in the 16th century, was rebuilt in the l9th century. The retables of the high and side altars are beautifully decorated with gilded, carved woodwork.
