In 1987 the Academic Museum was inaugurated in the former College of São Jerónimo building, having been founded in 1951. The exhibits are contemporary and cover the period from the late 19th century onwards, they include musical instruments photography, ceramics, medals, jewellery, textiles, paintings, sculpture and engravings, there are also document and poster archives along with a library. The museum aims to bring together, preserve and promote the social, cultural and artistic values of the academic community, its traditions and its history.
